The Galaxy Galaxy Plan Visits to S. East Asia & Australia

MLS franchise Los Angeles Galaxy has announced that their offseason schedule will include matches in Australia as well as tours to the South East Asian countries, as a part of a promotional campaign following a successful 2011 MLS season.

The Galaxy have confirmed their fixture with Australian League A club Melbourne Victory. The game is scheduled to be staged at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne on December 6.

However, their plans to fix club friendlies with outfits based in Singapore and Malaysia are still a work in progress; the official promoter of the tour told the media. The club names were not promulgated in the announcement.

"We're just sorting out sponsors. It's about 80 per cent (confirmed)," the official of the campaign told the media.

The promotional campaign official further added that the specific dates for the latter two outings is still to be finalized but the first game will surely be staged in Jakarta which will fall in the ending days of November and the next game will be in Singapore in the first week of December, followed by the Australian fixture.

The Galaxy will feature English star David Beckham, Scottish sensation Robbie Keane and America’s own Landon Donovan in the roster. English heart throb Beckham has played for Barclays Premier League powerhouse Manchester United and Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid prior to Los Galacticos.

We are very close in the negotiations. It’s at quite an advanced stage. We’re negotiating for the whole team, including Beckham," the promoter added to her comments.
